Effect: For this effect, two decks of cards are needed, one for the spectator and one for you. Both decks are shuffled. He keeps one deck and hands the magician the other. Both you and the spectator remove a card and bury it in your respective decks. When the chosen cards are revealed, you find, miraculously, that you have both chosen the same card!

Secret: Give a deck of cards to a spectator and keep a deck for yourself. Both decks (preferably a red-back and a blue-back deck) are shuffled. As you shuffle your deck, peek at and remember the bottom card. This is your key card.

1.Swap decks so that now you know the bottom card (the key card) of the spectator’s deck. Explain that he must copy every move you make as closely as possible.

2. Cut approximately half the cards from the deck and place them down, to your right. The spectator will do the same. Now, you both pick up the card you cut to and instruct the spectator to remember his. Look at your card but you do not need to remember it. Just pretend to do so.

3. Both of you place your card on the right pile, then pick up the left pile and place it on top of the right. The spectator’s card is now directly under your key card.

4. Swap the decks back commenting that both of your selected cards are lost somewhere in the decks.

5. Ask the spectator to find his selected card at the same time you are finding yours. Spread through the deck until you see your key card – the card right above it will be the one selected.

6. Both of you place your cards, face down, in front of you. Explain that you both made the same moves at exactly the same time so you should have ended up with the same result. Turn your cards over to show a perfect match!
