Effect: You are able to “find” or produce a continual stream of coins from anywhere. As you produce them, you drop them into a cup, hat, pail or bucket. He can also invite a spectator to “find” a coin and toss it into the bucket. If you are looking for a routine for a group of younger kids like a birthday party, this routine is ideal, but adults will enjoy it too.
There are many versions of this effect. Your creativity in how you produce and toss an endless stream of coins into a receptacle of some kind will be well-rewarded.

Secret: This is a simplified version of the Miser’s Dream and a perfect way to add to and enhance the “One Coin Routine.” It will require a little preparation.

1. Cut a small slit at the bottom of the side of a paper or Styrofoam cup. The slit should be just big enough for a quarter to slide through. You will also need eight to ten quarters. Start off with the quarters in the cup.

2. Hold the cup in your right hand (or left hand for lefties) with your thumb on the rim and your fingers underneath the cup. Tilt the cup toward you so a quarter secretly slips through the slit and into your palm. Transfer the cup to your left hand gripping it the same way.

3. Move the coin in your right hand into finger grip, reach toward a spectator’s ear and pretend to pull the quarter from behind the spectator’s left ear, just like you did in the previous effect. Drop the coin into the cup, showing your hand empty.

4. Repeat the last step using your opposite hand. With your left hand, pretend to pull a quarter from behind the spectator’s right ear. Repeat these steps, finding coins all over the spectator’s body.

5. Show the audience the bottom of the cup, tapping it with one of the quarters to demonstrate that it is solid. Keep the slit hidden. Finally, pour the quarters into your hand and crush the cup to hide the slit.
